Facility & Gear Rentals
Looking to use Bridges for Music gear or facilities to level up your creative or professional journey? You’re in the right place!
We’re here to support your growth, but please remember that gear and spaces are limited and need to be treated with care and responsibility. Below is everything you need to know about rentals and the IAP Waiver process.

Rental Info
Gear and facilities are available for alumni to rent, with pricing details coming soon.
In the meantime, if you’re not applying for a waiver and would like to book equipment or space for personal use, you can reach out directly to our facilities & gear manager, Sintu at 📧 sintu@bridgesformusic.org for pricing and availability.
What is an IAP Alumni Waiver?
An IAP Alumni Waiver is a special opportunity that allows a group of alumni to use gear or facilities without paying the rental fee, but only under certain conditions.
It is:
Designed to benefit multiple alumni, not just one individual
Subject to staff review, availability, and approval — waivers are not guaranteed
A way to make sure the gear remains in good condition and is used in ways that support collective growth
If the request is for just one individual alumni, it is considered a private rental and must go through the regular rental process with applicable rental fees.

How do I Apply for an IAP Waiver?
To be eligible, you must:
Include 3 or more alumni in the proposed activity
Be in good standing with Bridges for Music in terms of previous experience
Ensure the gear/facility is available and in working condition
Submit a detailed proposal , at minimum 30 days in advance, outlining the following:
The purpose of the activity
Who is involved
How it supports your artistic or professional development
Why this gear or facility is essential
How you plan to protect and respect the equipment
Submit your proposal and waiver motivation via email to Damian (damian@bridgesformusic.org), and carbon copy ('cc') Sintu (sintu@bridgesformusic.org) and Fosta (fosta@bridgesformusic.org) in your initial message.
NB: For gear valued over R10 000, a Bridges staff technician must be present during use, which will include an hourly fee for the staff member's time.

Other Important Info
A maximum of 2 waivers per alumni is available per year for gear and facilities
Gear and facilities are limited in terms of use and condition therefore availability and approval are not guaranteed
Strong, well-planned proposals increase your chances of approval, we are here to help you thrive on your journey
This system helps ensure resources are used fairly and responsibly for the benefit of the whole BFM community, and facilities and gear remain in ideal working condition for others
