Opportunity to Shine
Through the IAP, we offer opportunities to help you take the next step in your journey whether you’re an artist, working professional, or just eager to keep learning. These include live shows, music collaborations, internships, workshops, and more.
Opportunities are limited, so to give yourself the best chance, we recommend booking a 1-on-1 session to help you plan your path and find the right opportunities for you. We also encourage alumni to share opportunities in our Whatsapp Community.
Types of opportunities
Performance Opportunities
Designed to help artists build experience through real-world gigs.
Artists are selected based on the strength of their EPK, professionalism, and fit for the event.
Submit your updated EPK to be considered, no direct applications for gigs are needed. Selected Artists will be contacted directly.
Career Development Opportunities
These include short-term work experience or internships to help build your career.
Selection is based on your CV, motivation, and proof of initiative in your field of interest.
Top candidates are put forward to our partners for final selection.
Open workshops, training, and events aimed at expanding your knowledge and network.
These are open to all IAP participants, with priority given to those who show strong motivation, early application, and consistent engagement.
Learning Opportunities
Career development opportunities are indented to give participants the chance to improve their chances of securing long term work in their desired field.
This includes short-term work experience or 'gig-work' opportunities as well as more long-term work placements such as internships.
NB: Participation in CV writing consultations and career mapping sessions, evidence of previous candidate initiated work in the space, and a clear desire to learn and engage in a particular field are vital.
Key Considerations:
Quality and relevance of a candidates CV/Resume & motivation statement.
Evidence that the candidate has explored and participated in a given area of interest, beyond Bridges For Music.
Evidence of the the reliability & professionalism of candidates from previous exposure to staff at BFM courses, events or opportunities.
For career development opportunities the IAP will choose the top 10-20 candidates based on relevance and previous performance. The candidate will then go through a recruitment process conducted by the particular client / partner who is looking to employ a candidate.
Career Development Opportunities
Learning opportunities currently take the form of workshops and events at the Bridges Academy in Langa or training opportunities through 3rd Party corporate partnerships.
These opportunities are open to everyone in the IAP program, who can attend, and participate.
Key Considerations:
Priority will be given to those who apply early and demonstrate consistent attendance in previous activities or workshops.
Specific training programs will require a strong motivation statement.
Clear evidence of engagement in a particular area will be a bonus.
While learning opportunities do not have as many requirements as performance and career development opportunities, factors such as attendance, engagement & commitment are highly valued.
Learning Opportunities
Active Opportunities
Performance opportunities will not be listed below, only career development and learning opportunities are available for individual application. To enquire about performance opportunities, please update your EPK (with new photos, shows, and music) and send it to the IAP team.
