Performance Opportunities Explained

Performance opportunities through the IAP are designed to help musicians gain real-world experience and build confidence on stage. These gigs may include live shows, brand activations, and other events, and are offered when external partners or clients reach out to Bridges for Music looking for talent.

How It Works:

  1. Submit Your EPK
To be considered, you must submit an up-to-date Electronic Press Kit (EPK) to the IAP team. This should include recent music, high-quality photos, a biography, social media links, and a performance history.

  2. Join the IAP Artist Roster
Once your EPK is approved, you will be added to the IAP Artist Roster. This roster is used to match artists to opportunities based on their genre, style, and experience.

  3. Matching Process
When a client requests an artist for a specific event, the IAP team selects the 5 to 10 most suitable artists from the roster and shares their EPKs with the client. The client then selects the artist(s) they feel best fit the opportunity.

Important: You cannot apply directly for specific performance opportunities. Once your EPK is submitted, you will be contacted by the IAP team only if you are selected by a client.

  1. Notification
If you're chosen, you’ll be contacted by the IAP team with the details. If not, you will remain on the roster for consideration throughout the year.

What Increases Your Chances?

  • Professionalism and Reliability
A track record of positive engagement with BFM events, staff, or programs.

  • High-Quality EPK
Well-organized, professional materials that reflect your current artistry.

  • Relevance to the Opportunity
Your genre, style, and experience should align with what the client is looking for.

  • Self-Initiated Progress
Evidence that you’re actively growing your career independently (e.g., booking your own shows, releasing music, building your brand).
